The largest program offered by Catholic Charities Regional Agency is Emergency Assistance. This program combines material and financial assistance with advocacy efforts for people in need of food, shelter, clothing, transportation, utility assistance, homeless outreach and prescription assistance. In 2010, Catholic Charities Regional Agency offered the following types of Emergency Assistance Services:
Food Assistance - 2,765 people Utility Payments and rental assistance - 4,522 households Emergency Shelter - 1,283 people Essential Prescription Medication and Medical Supplies - 302 people Holiday assistance - 1,031 people Emergency Assistance extends help and hope in times of crisis and need to families and children in cooperation with other social service agencies, churches, food pantries and kitchens. Recipients of assistance must meet eligibility guidelines for funds. The program has also intitiated a Money Management Program to work on budgeting issues and management of money when funds are tight.
