The Family Support Program offers supportive services to individuals, couples, and families experiencing problems in life where supportive listening and linkage to resources are the answers needed to help. The program serves clients who are having difficulties in coping with life tasks and problems that confront them. Issues around Bereavement and Loss are targeted areas of need, and individual and group activities are provided to help during these difficult times. Our goal is to improve problem-solving techniques, communication patterns and interpersonal relationships through short-term directed problem-solving approach. This is not a long-term counseling program and those in need of more interpersonal therapy are referred out.
Bereavement is viewed as a Ministry to help with coping and adjustment to loss. This is under development and will be expanding in the near future.
Additional problems where the Family Support Program can help include Marital Issues, Pre-marital Preparation, Parenting, Communication Issues, Crisis Pregnancy and Post-Adoption Concerns, Post-Abortion Counseling and Reconciliation (Project Rachel), and Issues related to the stress and anxiety of Job Loss and Unemployment |
