One of the longstanding services of Catholic Charities is the adoption program. Those who choose adoption as a loving option for their child are served through pre- and post-adoption counseling and services in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio.
Adoption is a social service provided for children who need new and permanent family ties. In conjunction with this program, the agency licenses foster homes in accord with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to provide care for dependent infants.
This service includes receiving temporary and permanent custody of children in preparation for adoption; providing licensed foster care for children in the agency's custody during the adoption planning process; and providing appropriate adoptive homes and supervision thereof.
In addition, those seeking to become adoptive parents are provided with information on adoption resources, and, when appropriate, home studies are completed to facilitate placement of infants in their home.
