Catholic Charities Regional Agency is an integral member of the Homeless Continua of Care in all three of its service counties.

In both Mahoning and Trumbull Counties, the agency is funded for homeless outreach case managers and for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing assistance. Funding is received through the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Ohio Department of Mental Health and the Ohio Department of Development. The agency partners with Help Hotline, Mahoning Valley Dispute Resolution, and Emmanuel Community Care Center to prvide comprehensive services to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. In Columbiana County the agency works with Community Action and Mental Health for linkage and referrals.

Services include outreach, case management, advocacy, financial assistance, linkage to other resources, housing placement and search, and information and referral.

The homeless program is known in the community as COACH, PATH and HPRP based on the different funding streams.

While the HPRP program has strict guidelines for financial assistance, anyone at risk of or in homelessness will be helped with referrals and linkage as appropriate.

In 2010, 499 people received homeless outreach services; 208 received assistance with transportation and obtaining legal proof of identification.
